Beach Day = Sunburn!

Well back from the beach and good thing today is cloudy because I am sunburned! Just my arms though, I was able to remember to put sunscreen on my other body parts... just not my arms. :( Oops I will definitely not make that mistake again!  But it didn't show up until I was in the car home so I was able to enjoy my whole beach day.
My aunt and uncle and I just spent the time enjoying the ocean breeze, the warm sun and the warm saltwater.  That's another thing I love about Florida in the summer, the ocean water is actually warm! The waves were also pretty big so it was overall perfect ocean conditions.  We then went out to lunch at a Tiki Bar on the intra-coastal where I got a daiquiri and my aunt and uncle got some Landshark beers.  I also found out what a floater shot is the hard way... (an extra shot of rum that just sits on top of the daiquiri and doesn't mix in eeeek!)
Then at home, after putting about a whole bottle of aloe on my shoulders, we had burgers, hot dogs, watermelon and corn on the cob.  Finished the day off with the first episode of Desiree's season on the Bachelorette and a few glasses of Moscato and I was ready for a good night's sleep!  Also caught the end of the Wing's game... grrrr those Blackhawks!! It's alright we'll get 'em in game 7!

I Need A Margarita

So I've been spending the last few days outside as much as possible!  Going from studying, to laying out on the raft in the pool, to swimming in the pool, to cleaning leaves out of the pool, to playing with my aunt and uncle's little corgi pup, to running around the neighborhood, to doing yoga from some tutorial videos I found on Hulu, to maybe a little more studying... It's just impossible to study in this environment!  I've found that 11 o'clock at night is the best time to really get work done.  It's a bit cooler, (but still in the 80's!) and only the sound of crickets can be heard outside.  I can put on an 8tracks music playlist in the screened-in back porch and really get down to focusing.  I mean, right now there seems to be a fiesta going on across the little lake that my aunt and uncle live on.  I can smell barbecue and hear loud Latin music and it really makes me want a margarita.  I am definitely getting some studying done though, I'm about half way through my first book.  The LSAT is 2 weeks from tomorrow so hopefully I can really master the balance between "fun in the sun" and "studying in the sun" by then.  But seriously it sounds like they have a live mariachi band performing over there...
Anyways, tomorrow we are going to the beach bright and early because my aunt and uncle both have work off for Memorial Day!  I'm going to pick up some cans of some type of alcohol that's not beer (I really don't like beer!) and my tanning lotion and spend a day on the ocean.  Then we're going to grill some hot dogs and I'll force myself to have a Corona and lime with my aunt and uncle (their favorite).  Then we plan to top the day off with some watermelon and the Florida sunset!  That's all for now and I'm sure I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Adventure Number 1!

Today is my first full day in stop number 1 on my Summer Adventure List... West Palm Beach, Florida!  I finally reached my destination after what turned into the flight from hell.  The normally quick flight down to Florida turned into a 6 hour affair, including waiting on the plane for an extra 2 hours with screaming children due to some bad weather.  I have a slight fear of flying so my anxiety and stress level was through the roof. But now I am here and that is all that matters!  I am living at my aunt and uncle's house for about a month, enjoying the warm weather and sunshine, laying by the pool, and studying for the upcoming June 10th LSAT.
It is currently around 90 degrees here, and according to the Weather Channel app on my iPhone, that is around 50 degrees warmer than home, Rochester Hills, Michigan! So glad that I am here :)  My aunt and uncle keep asking me if I am going to get too warm being out in the sun all day... Not a chance!
